Services

At Chronically Heard, I offer inclusive, person-centred counselling in a supportive and non-judgemental space. My aim is to help you explore your experiences, process difficult emotions, and find ways to move forward that feel realistic and meaningful for your life.

Sessions are collaborative and tailored to your individual needs. I work at your pace and focus on understanding your unique situation rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Chronic Illness Support

Living with chronic illness or energy-limiting conditions can affect every part of life — your identity, relationships, work, and sense of independence. Many people also experience grief for the life they once had or the future they imagined.

I offer counselling that acknowledges these realities and provides space to talk openly about the emotional impact of chronic illness, including:

  • Grief and loss
  • Isolation and loneliness
  • Identity changes
  • Navigating health systems and financial stress
  • Adjusting to new limitations or uncertainty

This is a space where your experiences are understood and taken seriously.

Mental Health and Emotional Wellbeing

I also support people experiencing a range of mental health challenges, including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Stress and burnout
  • Anger and emotional regulation
  • Low self-worth or identity struggles
  • Boundary setting and relationship difficulties

Life Transitions and Adjustments

Counselling can help you better understand your emotions, identify patterns, and develop ways of coping that align with your values and circumstances.

Major life changes can be overwhelming, even when they are expected or positive.

I provide support with transitions such as:

  • Moving countries or adapting to new environments
  • Changes in work or identity
  • Relationship changes
  • Loss of independence due to illness
  • Major shifts in life direction

Counselling can provide space to process these changes and explore how to move forward.

Drug and Alcohol Support

I have over 10 years of experience working in drug and alcohol support services and provide counselling for people wanting to explore their relationship with substances.

My approach focuses on harm reduction, risk management, and principles from SMART Recovery, supporting people to make informed and meaningful changes at their own pace.

A Person-Centred Approach

My counselling approach is deeply person-centred, meaning:

  • You are treated as the expert in your own life
  • Sessions are collaborative rather than directive
  • Your experiences are validated rather than minimised
  • We focus on realistic strategies that work within your circumstances
